One year has passed since the Pevensie children's adventures in The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and the Kings and Queens of Narnia find themselves summoned back to Narnia by Susan's magic horn, only to find that more than 1300 years have passed since the time they ruled there.

The Golden Age of Narnia has long since passed and the animals of Narnia have fled into hiding. A race of humans, the Telmarines (a people from a country to the west of Narnia, that originated from South Sea pirates from Earth) have conquered the land. Narnia is now under the control of the evil King Miraz, uncle to the true heir, Prince Caspian, who is now in exile...
