Activision and Red Octane have taken the hit guitar shredding game to the handheld world. But how well does Guitar Hero: On Tour play with no guitar?
Instead of building suspense, we'll just tell you: The game is awesome. Behold, dude, the picture above is your guitar. The add-on for your DS has four fret buttons, hold a fret button down and use the pick (comes with the game) to strum the strings on the touch screen at the right times to play a note. Practice. You can unlock 26 songs in total.
Another thing is that Star Power is back. This time round you can shout "ROCK OUT" into the DS microphone to use this point-boosting power. Great fun at home, awkward in a library. Alternatively, button pressing works too.
However... they've tried to cram so much into a handheld that it can get really uncomfortable to hold the DS. Just take regular breaks from the game and you'll be awesome.
BUT since the DS wasn't made for Guitar Hero, they've definitely done well to bring the most unlikely of games to the handheld. It's incredibly fun if you keep an eye on the comfort issue. You'll love rocking out.
Thank you New Zealand, you've been BEAUTIFUL! GOODNIGHT!
