"Adventure. Heh! Excitement. Heh! A Jedi craves not these things."

- yeah ok Yoda, maybe - but I'm willing to bet my land-speeder that the star wars fans, and serious gamers out there, in a galaxy closer to home certainly do!

And they're going to want to check out the new game being released from Lucas Arts in November 2007; Star Wars: The Force Unleashed.

This time around players get cast in the role of Darth Vader's "Secret Apprentice" and are sent out across the galaxy far, far away, in Vader's unyeilding quest to rid the universe of those pesky do-gooder Jedi - and along the way they will have to face decisions that could change the course of their destiny... "Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will..."

The expansive new story, created under direction from George Lucas, is set during the unexplored era between Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. The game promises to unveil new revelations about the Star Wars galaxy, and in addition to new adversaries including fugitive Jedi and Force-sensitive Felucians, it will also feature some of the more familiar faces from the Star Wars galaxy such as Jedi master Shaak Ti.

New characters include a female Zabrak Jedi character named Maris Brood who wields two "baton" lightsabers, General Kota - a "Samurai" Jedi, and female Imperial Officer - Juno Eclipse.

The Force Unleashed recasts the whole scope and scale of the Force in a way that fans have never seen or experienced before by taking full advantage of newly developed technologies that will be seen and experienced for the first time.

These new technologies incorporate the physical properties of any object in the environment so that everything reacts exactly like it would in the real world - wood breaks like wood, glass shatters like glass, plants on the planet Felucia bend like plants on the planet Felucia would, and more.

A revolutionary behavioral-simulation engine also enables the interactive characters in the game to react and behave like actual human beings, by adapting their behavior on the fly, producing a different result every single time.

Throughout the course of the game players can unleash and upgrade their four core Force powers - Force push, grip, repulse and lightning - and combine them for ultra-destructive, never-before-seen combos. This includes the ability to not only just Force push opponents into a wall - but to make a bigger mess with them than a Rancor at breakfast time - by using the Force to push them through the wall - talk about "feeling" the Force - *ouch*!

Players will get to visit locations such as the Wookiee homeworld Kashyyyk and the floral planet Felucia, the junk planet Raxus Prime, and an Imperial TIE fighter construction facility. The decisions you make throughout the game will determine the path of the story, including multiple endings that will rock Star Wars continuity as we know it.

LucasArts is preparing an unprecedented promotional effort around the launch of The Force Unleashed, which will include a full line of toys and game-based action figures from Hasbro, as well as comics and books from Dark Horse, Del Rey and Palace Press.

Availability: November 2007 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 2, PSP, PS3, and Nintendo DS.
