Dude! - Did you know surfing was actually invented by penguins?! - Sick!
Surf's Up is an animated comedy that uncovers the truth that surfing was actually invented by penguins. The story is told in mock documentary style as a film crew takes us behind the scenes and onto the mondo waves during the most competitive, heartbreaking and dangerous display of high-octane surfing known to man (or penguin), the Big Z Memorial Surf Off.

The film follows the story of teenage rockhopper penguin Cody Maverick - a penguin who wants to become a pro surfer.
He is "discovered" by a surfing promoter and travels from Shiverpool Antarctia by whale to Pen Gu island where a penguin media frenzy is in progress to cover all the action at the biggest annual surfing event of the year; the Big Z Memorial Surf Off.

Ready to bail Cody
out when he eats a gnarly wave are the friends he meets along the way - a penguin
surfing guru named Geek, surf nut Chicken Joe, a surfing chicken, and the attractive
female penguin life guard and surfer girl, Lani.
With their help Cody learns that everyone must define for themselves what truely matters in life, and that being a winner doesn't necessarily mean taking home a trophy.

Cody must compete against some fierce competition to become the champion penguin surfer. But it'll take more then skill and strength to hotdog it with the pros... after all - tubes are for legends. If he hopes to win Cody will have to discover the hero within...
